Jamaica Jamaica!

Have you ever been to this popular Caribbean destination? When I think of Jamaica, reggae and jerk immediately comes to mind! What about you? Jamaica is an island with so many happenings and cultural experiences that it certainly deserves a visit! The island encompasses two airports, one located in the island's capital and in the south- Kingston (KIN) while the other is situated in the Montego Bay region of the north coast (MBJ). If the first leg of your journey is via KIN then you are certainly in for a cultural treat!

Adventuring in Kingston...Yea Mon!

1. Blue Mountains...this is rated the #1 top things to do via Trip Advisor. The Blue Mountain range is notorious for its coffee and tours are available to visit the Creighton Plantation. The views are spectacular and so is the smell of the coffee!

2. Devon House...despite having a beautiful story and the beautiful colonial architecture Devon House for me stands for one thing: Ice Cream! Have you ever visited this delightful ice cream house? I must point out I am a non-desert fan but this stop was definitely worth my time! If you decide on experiencing Devon House also try the delicious gourmet Jamaican patties at the bakery and have a drink at the beautiful restaurant set within this colonial gem.

3. Bob Marley Museum..."One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain" For the lovers of reggae and the fans of the legendary Bob Marley, this tour is an emotional must! The museum is based in the home of the beloved legend and you get a chance to walk in his foot steps, exploring rooms filled with his awards collection, personal artefacts but my favourite part of the tour was getting an opportunity to stand in the recording studio where his infamous music was created! Have you visited this museum? I would love to hear your personal experience!

4. Pan Chicken, Jerk, Breadfruit, Festival, Saltfish and Ackee.....The Jamaican Cuisine! In visiting  new places comes the experience of new flavours and culinary delights! I had the wonderful opportunity of tasting the spices and food that makes Jamaica...Jamaica! Jerk screams Jamaica and I would advise trying jerk at the popular Scotchies restaurant for an authentic experience and don't forget to grab a Red Strip while you're at it! I've never heard of pan chicken until I was exposed to it in Jamaica but I can say words really don't describe how amazing this style of cooking is and this should be a must on your to do list! I'm sure you're wondering what exactly is pan chicken! It's essentially a style of cooking where meat is smoked and roasted over a pimento wood fire and is usually paired with roasted breadfruit! Tell me your experiences and where you have had the chance to enjoy the true Jamaican flavour!
